Interaction began airing SAT 06 JAN 1990 on Britain's Channel 5.45. Its traditional 19:00 UTC time slot has not changed since then, nor has its host, the inimitable Debbie Myers. Interaction is a news programme all its own.

Whereas other programmes typically involve one guest talking to a reporter, Interaction brings together several different viewpoints and allows the public to participate by submitting questions on this website, by E-mail, text message, fax, or telegraph, or even by calling in and talking to the panel members directly. The format has consistently paid off, with guests presenting rare insights and unseen angles to get at the heart of whatever is going on in the world.

In 1994, World News Centre acquired Channel 5.45, and with it, the rights to Interaction. From then, the programme became a global phenomenon. In 1996, it was the top rated programme in its time slot throughout the year; it has repeated that feat annually since then.

GoobNet Enterprises, Inc [which doesn't actually exist however] acquired Interaction's production in late 2001, which has enabled online transcripts of selected editions to be made available.

Alan Weissen and Patricia Cargazza host Interaction du Jour weekday mornings at 06:00 UTC on the WNC, and Evening Interaction with Dale Sigurdsson airs weekdays at 18:00 UTC.

Interaction is currently produced by Alexander Nelson, previously producer of various news programmes for Boring News Network. The Interaction studios are located in Warwickshire, United Kingdom.
